Adrian Empire, Inc.
The Adrian Empire, founded in 1986, is a national, non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and recreation of Western European culture between the years 1066 and 1603. As a member, you'll be given the chance to step through a window in time into the Age of Chivalry and Legends. Our members work to recreate the arts and skills of the era. We also include other cultures that commonly interacted with the Western Europeans during our time frame. This exciting development means there is now even more rich history, culture, and tradition to explore!
"The true "Dream" for Adria is that in the chaotic world of our mundane lives, much like the chaotic times in medieval history, we can create and uphold a society where individuals from all walks of life are made equal, no matter what rank or title, all have the same opportunities and all are expected to uphold the same chivalric ideals.
"The Dream" is exemplifying the best qualities of medieval history and applying them, not only within Adria but within each of ourselves and in thus, making our mundane lives a better place to exist. Self-indulgence and oppressiveness are prohibited. Fellowship, compassion, and a need to keep matters simple and to the point are to be embodied by the populace. As founders, our future "Dream" for Adria was that each member would hold a true and honest love for Adria so as to nurture and help her grow into a shining example of what a Noble Society could have been in the past and perhaps should be today and in the future."

Out of the ashes of the Kingdom of Pembroke like a new phoenix being born, a lion’s roar can be heard across the deserts of Arizona. Reborn is the Duchy of Umbria, starting fresh with a small core of about 20 people; devoted to making the duchy a place people could enjoy themselves once again while recreating the Middle Ages. Over the years the duchy grew, in September 1998 it once again was recognized as a Kingdom. Umbria has slowly made a name for itself with the support of a diverse, strong-willed, tenacious group of people wanting to create a better Umbria for all to enjoy. Umbria may have been called a lot of things over the years, but no one can say we are quitters. Umbria could have gone away but thanks to those of us that proudly call ourselves Umbrians it hasn’t, as you can see.
Umbria has shown time and time again its prowess in all of the disciplines of the Knighthoods of the Adrian Empire:
On the Field of Combat, Umbrian fighters are zealous in their fighting and devoted to their discipline. Our Fighters are some of the best in the Empire, several Umbrians are even Imperial Tournament winners. And how do we do this well, we’re constantly fighting with each other (in a good way) at the least on a weekly basis at our Wednesday night fighter practice out at Encanto Park.
In the Field of Arts, Umbrians have the privilege of being surrounded by true artistic talent. We have an exceptional group of artisans who always amaze us with their ability to do phenomenal work that range from stirring bardics, to paintings that take your breath away, to serving period food from fantastic main dishes to scrumptious desserts, like bread pudding, that’ll just leave you begging for more. And everyone always marvels at the dresses, hats and other period garb that our seamstress make for us to wear.
The Field of Archery, may not have started for the Empire in Umbria but it has been firmly established with the help of some truly gifted people who are truly giving of their time and talent, where it’s helping those of us who are truly in need of help to become better or using their talents in the art of crafting period bows and arrows that shoot and fly true.
And lastly but maybe the most important the Field of Ministry, for this is the discipline that always does the most, even if the lion’s share is always done behind the scenes.
